Trading Time

Netflix. It’s so easy. Too easy. It’s a way to forget, to escape…the now, the unmoving routine, the waiting-for-something- better to come. We’re talking 3hrs at a time.  It’s a way to relax, but then you have to deal with “the still small voice.”

I finally made a decision, no Netflix for 40 days! Then I read this quote from long ago. “Everything you give up for My sake, I will make up for it way more than you can imagine. It will be worth every second.” With a challenge like that, it sounds like ADVENTURE! And I love a good adventure.  I also read this quote, “If you want the material, double the spiritual.”

So I am on a fast. But it doesn’t seem like I’m depriving myself of anything! God is making it worth the trade. In fact, so many good things are happening right now, I feel like I’m on a fast adventure!

The results? I can hear better. I think heavenly thoughts (which is Biblical anyway!) I’m getting vision, new hope, new ideas, guidance, and a settled peace. My life is looking brighter. I feel like I just made a wise choice that I won’t regret.

We all know that a little entertainment is good at times; with emphasis on “little.” If you are escaping with anything, try deciding to lay it aside for 30 days and don’t look back. God WILL make it worth your time to seek Him. Open The Word and say, “Lord, show me something today that I’ve never seen before.”  He will. You may find yourself on the best adventure you’ve ever had! Grace and peace be yours through Jesus.
