Mercies

 I do caregiving for elderly gems. I told a couple once, in those words, and they said, "Elderly gems?" They hardly saw themselves as that. I remind people almost daily, that, they are valuable, by being born, breathing..no matter how they feel! And that God will fulfill His purpose for their life. Psalm 138:8

I'm grateful today, a new month, a new day of His mercies; they endure forever, right? Psalm 136 says it repeatedly. 

I will remember always, a client, in her nineties, a believer in Christ. When we spoke of Jesus and the cross, She held her Bible open to her chest, and wept. It was unabashed love for her Saviour, deep gratefulness for His sacrifice and giving of Himself. She did this several times in a couple hours. 

I've had other friends do this when facing severe trials. Can you picture yourself, in the middle of the challenge that today brings, to stop, sit, pull your open Bible to your heart, and love Him? Think of the the great gift he has wrought for our freedom from sin and shame; cleansing us completely clean by the rivlets of blood that flowed from His divine/human body. 

He asked to be relieved of the Plan in the Garden of Gethsemane; while knowing there was no other way. A fierce struggle, then surrender. He showed us how to die to ourselves, when God's way and plan looks too hard. Is there too much to give up of my will, in thinking of the outcome of His surrender? He redeemed us from eternal death..plus lots more. This is what you will find in getting to know Him. One huge result, is peace!

I dreamed one night, that a big bubble that came from the sky. It enveloped me completely, and the feeling was nothing I'd ever experienced! It was as if there was not one thing wrong, stressful, and no concerning burdens. Was it total peace, from The Prince of Peace Himself? Was it a Presence so beautiful that it shut out all other existence? I will never forget it. When it lifted, I wanted it back!

Know that He is with you, is here to lift your burdens today. Loving your Saviour, asking for the grace to surrender, knowing of Jesus' surrender and the afterward joy and peace it brings to all souls who believe, is something He loves. He knows you; is waiting for your voice. 

Nahum 1:7 "The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows them that trust in Him."
